PE : Beach

We stayed in the Algoa Guest House when we visited Port Elizabethin April this year.  The guest house is in the Summerstrand area of Port Elizabeth just 200m from the beach.  We drove into the city each day to visit the sights.  The best part of this drive was  Marine Drive with the ocean next to the road.
After a late lunch on Thursday we went to watch the sunset over the ocean.  The bay is busy with big cargo ships coming and going from the harbour.  And in the distance there are ships waiting for their turn at either the PE harbour or Coega harbour further away.  It was amazing to see how busy the bay and harbour is.
The town where we live, Mossel Bay, is also next to the ocean with a small harbour.  In comparison the Algoa Bay our little bay is quiet.  Still the ocean is always beautiful it does not matter if it is in a town or city, big or small.

  1. Sigh. I love the South African coastline. It amazes me that we live on the water in London and I live just about where the Thames meets the sea but I can go for crazy amounts of time without seeing the wide open ocean or sea.
