Day 11 : Luzerne (7)

After visiting the Jesuitenkirche we waked over a bridge to enjoy more of Lucerne's old town.  We walked through the Kornmarkt and Weinmarkt.  We saw the Lucerne Rathaus.   A wedding was taking place and limousines were waiting outside for the couple.  In the Weinmarkt square we saw the Haus zur Sonne with the beautiful "Marriage as Canaan" painted on the outside wall.

We then visited a few shops to buy some souvenirs before walking back to the station.  We were to late for the 16:00 train back to Bern and had to wait for the next train departing at 17:00.  While waiting we walked back to the lake and bought ice cream to eat while enjoying the view of the city and lake for a little while more.

Our train arrived in Bern at 18:00.  We stop at a shop for food and then went back to Sonja's apartment.  Sonja arrived home from work at about 20:30 and she wanted to make us dinner.  She used the left over potatoes from the previous night to make Rösti.  She grated the potatoes, added some salt and then fried it in a pan with butter until brown.  Then she fried some eggs to serve with the rösti.  We sat outside on her small balcony and had a lovely meal.
